paul gutacker, director
Paul Gutacker is a Ph.D. candidate in the History Department at Baylor University, where he is researching the cultural and political importance of nineteenth-century American interpretations of church history.
After earning a B.A. from Bryan College, Paul completed an M.A. in Theological Studies and a Th.M. at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia. He has published articles and book reviews in Crux, Fides et Historia, the Journal of Religious History, and the Journal of Ecclesiastical History.
In addition to his love for history, Paul is passionate about Christian pedagogy, particularly the relation between teaching practices and moral formation. Both his scholarship and his teaching are driven by a desire to see the church recover her historical memory. In his spare time, Paul enjoys reading fiction, running the Waco Riverwalk, cooking, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.

paige gutacker, assistant director
Paige Gutacker holds a B.A. from Bryan College and an M.A. in Theological Studies from Regent College. Her masters thesis looked at online theological education, concluding that digital technology has some unintentional (de)formative impulses and in-person education is thus more ideal when it comes to spiritual formation.
Paige is passionate about people development and started her own business as a certified life coach in 2017, Crossroads Coaching. Paige previously worked in the non-profit sector and, together with Paul, co-authored an instructional text on mentoring for Christian educators.
Paige loves the conversation around spiritual formation and serves as a spiritual director at Christ Church. Her other interests include lay caregiving, gardening, wheel-thrown ceramics, health and nutrition, and hospitality. She spends much of her time caring for James Brantley (born April 2017), Marianne Lewis (born December 2019), and laughing at the antics of their rescued spaniel mix, Lila.
